National Apprenticeship Week 2017
Nayeem Uddin
Apprentice Service Desk Analyst
Time with LHIS: 5 months
Studying for: IT Apprenticeship Scheme Level 3
Why you decided to apply for an apprenticeship?
I felt that an apprenticeship benefited me more because you gain a lot of experience with the employer that you’re with and gain a qualification at the same time. It helps to develop skills that I already have and learn new skills along the way. I never realised at first what kind of opportunities you could get with an apprenticeship, until I managed to work for the NHS. It really is a great way forward.
What have you got out of it so far?
From this apprenticeship I have gained plenty of experience and new skills that I will use to help me in the present and future stages of my career. Having confidence and communication skills are most important while working and I feel I have gained and developed these skills a lot in these past few months at the NHS.
What you plan to do in the future?
For the future I plan to expand my skills further in the field of I.T, by working within bigger companies and organisations across the globe. I believe that by starting with an apprenticeship, it will help kick start any career with endless opportunities.
Feedback from Team Leader
Nayeem has settled into the role very well and enjoys working with his colleagues at LHIS. A very motivated individual and always willing to learn new skills. Very good on the phone to our customers and has fixed a number of issues. I believe Nayeem will go far in his career once his Apprenticeship has been completed. The apprenticeship scheme has added real value to our team and we look forward to welcoming new apprentices to LHIS in the future.
